Speaker Nabih Berri and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea traded blows Monday following disagreements over the formation of the new Cabinet and the distributions of ministerial portfolios.Al-Akhbar also quoted Berri, reporting that he was opposed to allowing the LF to hold key so-called sovereign portfolios in the new Cabinet. Berri's remarks drew a swift response from Geagea.Berri also objected to requests that President Michel Aoun maintain his own ministers in the new Cabinet, insisting that Aoun will be represented by the party he founded: the Free Patriotic Movement.Berri, the Amal Movement leader, added that he had not been keen to nominate Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri for the premiership, but recognized the need for a Shiite endorsement.
