Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced his country's intention to strengthen ties with Lebanon as he concluded his final day of meetings Tuesday.Zarif also held a meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Tammam Salam, during which they discussed regional crises including the ongoing conflicts in Yemen and Syria.After the meeting the Iranian foreign minister reiterated his country's support for a "constructive political approach in Lebanon" and stressed the importance of putting aside differences to reach solutions to the numerous issues facing the country.Zarif arrived in Lebanon Monday and is the first high-level foreign official visit to the country after rival political powers elected Michel Aoun president on Oct. 31, ending a 2-1/2-year presidential crisis.
