Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri congratulated U.S. President-elect Donald Trump Wednesday, saying that Trump's leadership was vital for stability, safety and peace in the Middle East.Other Lebanese politicians also commented on the election of a new American president one week after lawmakers elected Michel Aoun as president here at home.Many officials and politicians took to social media to voice their opinions on Trump's victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.Oct. 13 marks the day the Syrian army stormed the presidential palace in 1990, forcing President Aoun, who was army commander at the time, to leave the building and take refuge at the French Embassy before being exiled to France.
