A long-term vision and regional stability are needed if there is to be a transition to a green economy, The Arab Forum for Environment and Development announced Monday as it concluded a four-day conference in Beirut.The forum brought together 500 delegates from 58 countries and 170 institutions both in the public and private sectors as well as academia to look at ways to adopt the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.The recommendations also call for the development of policy packages that promote a transition to a green and sustainable economy across all sectors – private and public.Finally, the report highlighted the need for special measures to be introduced on a needs-basis.
