Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri Wednesday praised the election of a president and ongoing attempts to form a new government, saying this signaled that Lebanon is on the road to restoring its stability. Following daylong talks with the country's top leaders, including President Michel Aoun, Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri, Shoukri said he delivered to Aoun a letter of support and solidarity and interest in Lebanon's stability from Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi. He also handed Aoun an official invitation to visit Egypt.Shoukri expressed his country's interest in strengthening ties with Lebanon, saying that it plays an important role in maintaining the joint interests of Arab countries.Shoukri said Egypt would always support Lebanon's stability.
