As the 73rd anniversary of Lebanon's Independence draws near, 15 of the prominent figures who contributed to the struggle were honored with commemorative postage stamps Friday. An emotional event brought together the families and descendants of the 15 figure to launch the stamps. Lebanon will mark independence from the French mandate in 1943 on Tuesday, Nov. 22 .Harb, who spoke during the event, explained that this initiative aimed to repay a bit of what these men contributed to Lebanon. He also expressed hope that the new presidential term will bring with it cooperation and understanding between the various political figures.
