Independence Day brings with it the promise that state institutions will return to business as usual, Lebanese Army commander Gen. Jean Kahwagi said Monday as he stressed that a new page had been turned for Lebanon.Aoun's election, Kahwagi added, will restore the needed national cohesion.Kahwagi said that the institution did an exceptional job throughout the crisis, including prevailing over the threats posed by terrorist groups along the northeastern border and its steadfastness in the face of the Israeli enemy along the southern border.Nevertheless, he said that Independence Day celebrations are still lacking as Lebanese Army soldiers remain hostages of a militant group.
