Environment Minister Mohammad Machnouk blasted Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil after he suggested that Machnouk had been neglecting his duties. For the second time in as many months, Machnouk and Bassil fired rhetorical salvos at each other.Last month, Machnouk accused Bassil of not conducting any environmental studies on the controversial dam project prior to the start of its construction while serving as Energy and Water Minister in the last Cabinet.Machnouk called for a study of the dam in May, saying his ministry's rejection of the project was not political as the Free Patriotic Movement, which Bassil heads, claimed.Machnouk is not the first politician Bassil has locked horns with.
