The Future Movement's parliamentary bloc on Thursday said it backs Maronite bishops' position that the election of a president must be in accordance with Lebanon's Constitution and National Charter.In a statement issued Wednesday the Council of Maronite Bishops called for the election of a president without any preconditions, saying that a "package deal" would violate the country's Constitution and National Charter, which enshrines equal power sharing between Christians and Muslims.Thursday's Future bloc's meeting, which was chaired by Hariri, accused Hezbollah of obstructing the election of a new head of state, and engaging in a manner that violates Lebanon's Constitution and the democratic parliamentary system.
