A former bodyguard to Rafik Hariri took the stand for a third consecutive day Friday at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, testifying on the route taken by the convoy on the day of the bombing. Witness PRH 101 was cross-examined by defense counselors, led by Emile Aoun and Guenael Mettraux, on protocols followed by Hariri's personal security detail.Yahya al-Arab, also known as Abu Tareq, was the head of Hariri's security detail and a close confidant. He was also responsible for deciding the routes taken by Hariri's convoy. Defense counselors also sought to uncover why Hariri's convoy apparently went off course the day of his assassination. The witness' statements about the ISF's role raised suspicions among defense counselors, contradicting his testimony that Arab gave the direction.Mettraux interrogated the witness, claiming it would be impossible for PRH101 to be off duty on both Feb. 8 and 14 .
