Sigrid Kaag, the United Nations special coordinator for Lebanon, visited the towns of Al-Qaa and Hermel Wednesday. During the visit, Kaag was briefed by local representatives on the prevailing socio-economic situation and security conditions in and around the area. Border areas, such as Al-Qaa and Hermel, are also in need of continuous support for their socio-economic development in order to thrive and strengthen their resilience," Kaag said.During her visit to the border region, Kaag met with representatives of the Lebanese Army in Labweh. Kaag concluded her mission with a visit to a dairy product cooperative in Zahle, supported by the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization.
