Public transportation drivers held nationwide demonstrations early Wednesday against the increase in fees for automotive inspections. The state-run National News Agency reported that the public drivers protested in front of traffic and vehicles management authority centers in the eastern city of Zahle, in the Mount Lebanon towns of Hadath and Dikwaneh and the northern district of Zgharta. The union is demanding that the state manage the central inspection centers, instead of outsourcing management to a private company.
