General Security chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim stated the importance of dialogue with Syrian authorities to enable the return of refugees to their homeland, in an interview published Friday in the General Security magazine.Lebanese political factions have been at loggerheads over whether the government should coordinate with the Syrian regime over the return of refugees or whether international bodies, such as the United Nations, should take the lead.Ibrahim also talked of Lebanon's success in keeping the country safe and stable at a time when regional powers are engulfed in flames. Since then, the center has been closed and a new, one opened elsewhere, Ibrahim said, thanks to the help of the Interior Ministry and other donors.
