Prime Minister Saad Hariri warned Hezbollah Wednesday against interfering in the internal affairs of Arab countries, reiterating that the policy of dissociation from regional conflicts was in Lebanon's best interest. Hezbollah's deputy head Sheikh Naim Qassem blasted Saudi Arabia during a conference on Islamic unity hosted in Tehran this week, in what was construed as a violation of the Cabinet decision Tuesday that unanimously endorsed a statement that calls on rival Lebanese factions, including Hezbollah, to distance themselves in words and in deeds from regional conflicts and the internal affairs of Arab countries.Hariri asked, according to a statement released by his media office.Following the Cabinet's dissociation statement, Hariri said he had withdrawn his resignation, effectively clearing the way for the Cabinet to resume its meetings.MP Walid Jumblatt said the Cabinet's dissociation statement and the reactivation of the government's work have evoked relief across the country, and not just to Hariri.
