French President Emmanuel Macron and the U.N. will host a meeting of the International Support Group Friday on Lebanon's economy and stability in the wake of a political crisis sparked by Prime Minister Saad Hariri's resignation.Despite both Geagea and Foreign Minister Bassil professing their commitment to the preservation of the Maarab Agreement reached between the former long-time foes, Bassil was highly critical of the LF in a televised interview Wednesday.Geagea said the two politicians had agreed to work together in the government under President Michel Aoun.It was widely reported that recent judicial, ambassadorial and administrative appointments, which were partly influenced by Bassil, had effectively sidelined many political parties, including the LF.Regarding accusations that the LF conspired against Hariri, who announced his resignation early in November before withdrawing the decision earlier this week, Geagea rejected the claims outright. But Hariri and Geagea, longtime allies, have not met since the premier's return to Beirut. While recent speculation has swirled around the possible replacement of ministers in Hariri's Cabinet, including LF ministers, Geagea said such a move would be unacceptable.
