The opening of Afkart's annual "Christmas Creations" exhibition saw an array of homeware, jewelry, clothes and furniture, and other crafts from over a score of participating designers, in a small space a few meters away from commercial behemoths like Bershka and Stradivarius.The exhibition's location expanded the reach of the designers, targeting "the mall crowd" instead of the usual exhibitiongoers, attendee Elias Sami said.For between $200 and $450 a piece, Damah's designer items are within the same range as the big name brands nearby.Bouchedid said exhibitions provided the needed space for interaction between the customers and the artisans.The exhibition runs daily until Dec. 23, with the designers changing on Dec. 19 .
