President Michel Aoun Wednesday warned the United Nations that failure to act on the recent U.S. Jerusalem move would lead to ethnic cleansing, new displacement and future wars.Aoun traveled to Istanbul after accepting an invitation from Turkey's president to attend the summit, which was called for to address the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.According to Aoun, the U.N.'s very existence will be on the line based on how it deals with the move. Touching on increased Sunni-Shiite tensions in the region, Aoun said the Arab-Israeli and Islamic-Israeli conflicts have evolved into Arab-Arab and inter-Muslim conflicts, which only served Israel's interests.Separately a number of Muslim leaders lauded Aoun's stance and support for Palestine.
