The municipality of Ghobeiri Friday denied in a statement any involvement in the poisoning of several stray dogs by municipal employees the day before, saying the act had been carried out on an individual basis. A video widely shared on social media Thursday showed at least four dogs lying on the ground twitching, whimpering and foaming at the mouth. While the dogs are dying but still alive, they are picked up by a man wearing a municipal uniform and lobbed into the back of a municipal vehicle parked next to scene. The dogs were reportedly poisoned by employees of the municipality's health department.
