The Bekaa Valley Zeaiter clan denied allegations its members want to travel to Iraq to fight Daesh (ISIS), local sources said Friday. A video recorded by the Al-Talia channel last week and circulated online Wednesday claims to depict several men from the prominent Zeaiter clan saying they want to join battles in Iraq against Daesh alongside the Shiite Al-Hashd al-Shaabi or Popular Mobilization. Another man in the video went a step further and claimed to speak on behalf of all the local clans.The Zeaiter and Amhaz families are among the largest clans in the Bekaa Valley and two of several in Lebanon known for their fierce family loyalties and tit-for-tat vigilante justice.
