Prosecution analyst Andrew Donaldson gave further evidence to the trail chamber Wednesday trying to solidify the alleged link between mobile device "Purple 231" and indicted suspect Hasan Merhi, at Friday's abbreviated hearing of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.Friday marked the third day Donaldson spent attributing Purple 231 to Merhi. While the analyst's testimony on Assad Sabra, another indicted suspect, was concise, his case linking an incriminating cellphone to Merhi has been more complex. In an earlier hearing, Donaldson remarked that it took the investigation two years to gather evidence identifying the user of Purple 231 .In the past few hearings, Donaldson has argued that Merhi, along with other defendants, resided in this area in the years surrounding the conspiracy.
