The battle for Arsal is expected to unfold in waves with intense stretches of fighting followed by negotiations between Hezbollah and the militants.Hezbollah began its anticipated ground offensive Friday.The battle is far from over as the militants are entrenched and have been operating in the area since 2014 .The analyst also stressed the importance of morale as being a decisive factor in the battle, describing it as the "key" to Hezbollah's expected victory.Throughout Friday's offensive Hezbollah focused their forces and firepower on Jabhat Fatah al-Sham with the aim of reducing their capabilities and securing strategic gains in the process.Gen. Charles Abi Nader did not expect the battle to take long, as it was based on limited objectives and specific targets.The source added that after the battle concludes Hezbollah will move on to confront other threats.As for the duration of the battle, the source said that it will depend on the progress of field operations and mediation efforts.
