Free Syrian Army affiliated Saraya Ahl al-Sham withdrew from the battles raging in the outskirts of Arsal Saturday, a senior security source told The Daily Star.The Hezbollah-affiliated War Media Center reported that 200 hundred Saraya Ahl al-Sham fighters had withdrawn from the battle to refugee settlements in Wadi Hmayed near the edge of the town of Arsal after coordinating with Hezbollah's commanders in the field.With a fighting force estimated at 800 men, Saraya Ahl al-Sham is the largest of the militant groups engaging Hezbollah in the mountainous outskirts of Arsal. Hezbollah secured around 65 percent of the territory previously held by Jabhat Fatah al-Sham as the party's ground offensive on militant positions in the outskirts of Arsal entered the second day Saturday.Daesh (ISIS) has not yet been engaged by Hezbollah.Fighters had also seized seven other positions overnight.
