An open letter condemning the negative atmosphere against and mistreatment of Syrian refugees in Lebanon has been co-signed by nearly 300 Lebanese intellectuals and cultural figures, following recent controversy over the deaths of four Syrian nations in Army custody.In the letter Bazzi, along with hundreds of others, rejected "campaigns of hatred" against Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The letter itself made no reference to specific events, however it comes after the recent controversial deaths of four Syrian refugees in Arsal while in military custody.The death of the four Syrian refugees is still a contentious issue in Lebanon and the list of signatories continues to grow.
