A festival in observance of Mother's Day transformed Sidon's market into a carnival Monday, as central streets were decked in white.The entrance to Sidon's historic market quarter became a portal leading to a street fair teeming with life and activity, which extended all the way into the market's innermost alleys. The Mother's Day event was attended by several of the city's prominent figures, including Sidon Mayor Mohammad Saudi and various economic, political and religious officials.Ali Sharif, head of the Merchant's Association for Sidon and its suburbs, hoped that the festival would celebrate all of a what mothers do for their families.
