Israel's saber-rattling in recent weeks has prompted speculation that a new war between the Jewish state and Lebanon is imminent, yet analysts remain unconvinced.Israel has increased its fiery rhetoric and airstrikes within Syria that have targeted both Hezbollah and the forces of Syrian President Bashar Assad both scope and intensity.This strike was unlike others, however, as it drew a direct response from the Syrian military, which launched anti-aircraft missiles.While Lebanon's southern front has been mainly quiet for the past decade, tensions along the Israeli-Lebanese border had been building for several months.A couple of days later the Lebanese Army set up concrete roadblocks in the area to prevent similar incursions in the future, only to have them torn down by the Israeli army a few weeks later.Speaking several days later to Egyptian media, President Michel Aoun said Hezbollah remains part of Lebanon's defense against Israel.An official who works alongside Hezbollah on the Lebanese-Syrian border, but is not part of the group, said Israel's rhetoric is due to apprehension over the presence of Hezbollah-trained Iraqi Shiite militias in the Syrian-controlled Golan Heights.
