BEIRUT: The following security-related incidents took place across the country over the weekend: SUSPECTED ISRAELISPY ARRESTED General Security Saturday announced the arrest of an Iraqi national believed to be working with Israeli intelligence services inside Lebanon to create a surveillance network. General Security arrested the man, identified as M.Y., on suspicion of communicating with and gathering information for Israel. During interrogation, M.Y. said he was recruited by an officer from an Israeli group affiliated with the country's Defense Ministry that actively conducts operations in Arab countries. M.Y. claimed the group organizes assassinations and trains assassins, and had asked him to gather security information about the Lebanese Army and various officials. He was reportedly tasked with recruiting others to build a network of spies in Lebanon.
