The political scene Monday witnessed a flurry of activity in response to Prime Minister Saad Hariri's shock weekend resignation. In addition to President Michel Aoun's high-level meetings and his sit-down with Speaker Nabih Berri, Hariri's chief of staff Nader Hariri met with Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil at Hariri's Downtown residence. Qawwas underscored Dar al-Fatwa's continued to support for Hariri. As the impact of Hariri's resignation continued to reverberate throughout Lebanon's political arena, Future Movement MP Ahmad Fatfat met with Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea and stressed that the Future Movement's candidate for heading a Cabinet was still Hariri.Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora earlier in the day contacted several politicians including Geagea, Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt and former premiers Najib Mikati and Tammam Salam.
