A security council for south Lebanon held an emergency meeting in the Sidon Serail Tuesday to discuss gun control in light of clashes that rocked the southern city overnight, leaving two dead and six wounded.The Lebanese Army Tuesday announced the arrest of those involved in the overnight clashes.The source said that Hariri was firm when talking about the events, saying that such aggressions would not be tolerated and questioning what Hezbollah wanted from Sidon and why the group was using its weapons in the city again.Relative calm had returned to the southern port city by Tuesday morning, amid an intensified Internal Security Forces presence the day after a dispute between generator owners escalated into shooting, street fighting and vandalism.The incident, which was sparked by a disagreement over which company was allowed to operate in Sidon's Barrad neighborhood, was the second of its kind in recent months. As the fighting broke out, the Army established checkpoints across the city, with a focus on the area in which the clashes were concentrated.
