The recent warming of ties between President Michel Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri has prevented the country from plunging into an economic, financial and social crisis, according to Cabinet sources. However, the relationship between Aoun, Hariri and Berri has stalled over one particularly contentious issue – Berri's urgent proposal to shorten Parliament's third term and hold elections before the end of the year.Sources from Berri's parliamentary bloc confirmed that this will feature on next week's Parliament agenda.
