Visitors who met with Speaker Nabih Berri Tuesday said he will call for a Parliament session next week to pass draft laws approved by the Cabinet dealing with tax amendments, the public sector's salary scale law and a settlement of extra-budgetary spending in past years.The Cabinet has sent to Parliament three draft laws pertaining to the salary scale law, taxes and the 2017 draft state budget, the National News Agency reported.The first draft law calls on Parliament to permit the government to delay the implementation of Law 46 relating to the salary scale until taxes are approved by Parliament, the NNA said.The Future Movement's parliamentary bloc underlined the importance of referring the 2017 draft state budget to Parliament so that it can be approved by lawmakers, saying that the draft was already 10 months late from the constitutional deadline set for budget ratification.The Free Patriotic Movement's parliamentary Change and Reform bloc called on the Interior Ministry to hold parliamentary elections on time based on the new proportional vote law.
