Minister of State for Women's Affairs Jean Ogasapian announced over the weekend that work was underway by his ministry for a national strategy for gender equality in Lebanon to promote the status of women in all fields."This strategy reflects Lebanon's commitment to the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women," Ogasapian said during his speech at the forum.He added that eliminating discrimination occurs through national and private talks. Ogasapian said that this would be done to guarantee equality outlined by international conventions and to involve women in the development process.
