State Security announced Wednesday the arrest of a suspected Jabhat Fatah al-Sham terrorist in the east Lebanon. The suspect, named as Hasan Q., was arrested in Baalbeck's Hawsh al-Nabi on charges of belonging to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham -- previously known as the Nusra Front -- and for fighting against the Lebanese Army in the northeastern town of Arsal. The arrest came at the peak of the 2014 crisis after the Lebanese Army clashed with Daesh (ISIS) and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham militants in Arsal after both groups overran the town.
