President Michel Aoun said Monday that Lebanon was at a breaking point in dealing with Syrian refugees in the country, describing the displaced as "an existential threat," to a statement from the presidency said.Over the weekend, Aoun met with U.K. Minister of State for the Middle East and International Development Alistair Burt on the British politician's two-day visit to Lebanon. "I held very constructive meetings with President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Speaker Nabih Berri and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil," Burt said at the end of his visit. During his meeting with Aoun, Burt reiterated the U.K.'s support for Lebanon and its commitment to establish an excellent bilateral relationship between the two countries.
