Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said his meetings with Lebanese expatriates in the United States were aimed at uniting efforts to prevent any attempts to permanently settle refugees in Lebanon, a statement from his media office said Saturday.Gabriel Issa, the Lebanese Ambassador to the United States thanked President Michel Aoun and Bassil, saying he would work hard to defend Lebanon's positions with the U.S. administration.Earlier, in Denver, Colorado, Bassil had made similar calls for the Lebanese diaspora to come back to Lebanon and strengthen the country and for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.
