Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil Saturday opened the 2017 Diaspora Energy Conference in Las Vegas, a statement from his media office said.The first day of the two-day conference was attended by a crowd from the Diaspora, Lebanese MP's, Energy Minister Cesar Abi Khalil, Economy Minister Raed Khoury and U.S. officials, the statement said.U.S. Senator Darrel Issa also spoke, lauding what he said was Lebanon's provision of housing, food and education to more than 1.5 million Syrian refugees. He added that the endeavour deserved U.S. support, the statement said.
