President of the National Assembly of France Francois de Rouge praised Lebanon's handling of the Syrian refugee crisis and described President Michel Aoun's visit to France as a boon to relations between the countries.At the beginning of the meeting on Aoun's last day in France, de Rouge welcomed the president and stressed the importance of Lebanese-French relations. He also said that French MPs can play a role in cooperation with Lebanese MPs and added that the visit was a key step in boosting and launching a new direction in Lebanese-French ties.Aoun lived in self-imposed exile in France for 14 years after being granted asylum there at the end of Lebanon's Civil War (1975-1990).
