Education Minister Marwan Hamadeh indicated Tuesday that he supported an increase in school tuition fees after meeting with Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai to discuss ongoing strikes by private school teachers. Hamadeh's comments came as he visited Rai in Bkirki, the seat of the Maronite Church.Following their sit-down, Hamadeh called the strikes by teachers demanding better pay a "crime against students," local media reported. Hariri dismissed the idea of a tuition hike for families of private school students.
