President of the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers Bechara Asmar said Thursday that subsidized housing loans should be granted exclusively to employees with "limited income".Asmar expressed his support for Bou Assi's position on implementing a circular issued by the Central Bank offering subsidized housing loans. The maximum monthly salary an employee could earn while remaining eligible for the loan would therefore, as per Asmar and Bou Assi's suggestions, be $2700 .Asmar said that those who acquire loans of up to $800,000 are "affluent" and can afford to get unsubsidized loans from other banks.
