The president and caretaker interior minister asked the Baalbeck-Hermel governor not to go to his province after he received death threats following last month's raid on drug dealers, which led to the death of "Lebanon's Escobar". Bashir Khodor, the governor, has been the target of several threats via social media, with those close to the outlaws claiming Khodor was the driving force behind the July raid. Following the threats against Khodor's life, caretaker Justice Minister Salim Jreissati called upon State Prosecutor Samir Hammoud Friday to take action.In July, the Army carried out a dawn raid in Brital's notorious town of Hammoudieh, which resulted in the deaths of Ali Zaid Ismail – known as "Lebanon's Escobar" – and seven others.An Army source told The Daily Star in June that a major security operation was going to happen within "days".
