Communication between Lebanon and Syria is "needed" for the benefit of both countries, Russia's envoy to Beirut said Thursday after a meeting with caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, a foreign ministry statement reported.Bassil's discussions with Russian Ambassador Alexander Zaspykin revolved around a Russian proposal for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland. However, Russia's proposal for Syrian refugee returns has been put on-hold in recent weeks, after reported objections by the United States.
