Lebanon's ambassador to Japan provided Carlos Ghosn with food and a mattress in his jail cell, a close friend of the ousted Nissan Motor Co. chairman said Friday.Ajami, a journalist and resident of Japan for the last 10 years, said Yehya had seen Ghosn three times.Ghosn is a citizen of all three countries.According to Ajami, Ghosn said the tax evasion allegations were untrue because he had an agreement with Nissan that if the company reached a certain level of success, he would be paid a specified amount at the end of his tenure there.Ajami added that the homes Ghosn had reportedly purchased with the company's money for personal use each had a purpose for Nissan.Nissan had been investigating Ghosn and Kelly for months after the whistleblower report emerged.
