President Michel Aoun reportedly told visitors to Baabda Palace that if the government formation remains deadlocked, he will send a letter to Parliament calling for consultations to be held on the stalled formation. While according to the Constitution Saad Hariri's designation as the prime minister tasked with forming the government cannot be taken away, Aoun would send a letter to Parliament calling for lawmakers to question him over the formation delay.Aoun's comments follow a meeting held between Hariri and Free Patriotic Movement leader Gebran Bassil Thursday night in an attempt to resolve the formation deadlock.
