Speaker Nabih Berri's Amal Movement has rejected any responsibility for the protests that broke out late Wednesday night.Supporters of Berri briefly entered Hadath late Wednesday night carrying Amal Movement flags, chanting and honking horns before the Army put an end to the protest."Our stance is clear that the [Amal] Movement isn't tied to what happened in Hadath and we call on the Army to maintain security," Khalil said on Twitter. He added that implicating his party in the matter was meant to distract the people from the issue at hand, referring to Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil's comments about Berri being a "thug".
