A major conference of the Lebanese diaspora in Ivory Coast's Abidjan concluded Saturday evening, with recommendations to expand trade and investment links between Africa and Lebanon. The Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference was attended in large part by Lebanese businesspeople and diplomats from across Africa, in addition to Economy Minister Raed Khoury and head of the Socio-economic Council Charles Arbid.Recommendations at the end of the two-day event, while light on specifics, included pushing for Lebanese commercial banks to open across Africa and calling for increased cooperation between Lebanese businesspeople at home and in Africa, a Foreign Ministry statement reported.
