U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is set to visit Lebanon next week to meet with top officials, sources confirmed Wednesday. A source from Baabda Palace told The Daily Star that Tillerson will arrive on Feb. 15 .While in Lebanon, Tillerson is expected to meet with President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Speaker Nabih Berri and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.Satterfield met Wednesday with Bassil in the presence of U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard in a sit-down that Bassil described as "good and serious," according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.The former U.S. ambassador also met with Berri, and the pair discussed current developments in Lebanon and the region.
