President Michel Aoun reiterated Lebanon's decision to defend its land in the event of any Israeli attack on the country or its potential oil reserves.Responding to recent statements by Israeli officials claiming that oil Block 9 off of Lebanon's southern coast is the Jewish state's property, Aoun said, "The instigative Israeli talk doesn't matter to me, but if it carries out [what it has said], there will be a new war". However, the president said he believed that Israel would not follow through on the threats.
