The popular ride-hailing app Uber will establish a mechanism for cooperation with the Lebanese security services to protect their passengers, an Uber delegation told Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk Friday.Uber's Middle East regional director, Anthony Khoury, and the Director of Security Relations for North Africa and the Middle East, Amro Ismail, met with Machnouk to discuss the protection and safety of Uber passengers in Lebanon.At the time, Machnouk said the app was unsafe and urged people to use private taxi companies.An Uber spokesperson dismissed Machnouk's remarks.
