President Michel Aoun Wednesday said he has called for investigations over 'fictional NGOs and institutions" for the handicapped, which he said are benefiting from the state funding at the expense of active institutions working in the field.Aoun said there are currently a total of 340 organizations, among which 103 are concerned with the care and assistance of handicapped people. I have asked to investigate into the status of associations and institutions contracted with the state Social Affairs Ministry".Registered NGOs and organizations can access annual state funding to assist with their work.
