Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil Tuesday alleged that a number of people had been unlawfully appropriating and registering state property in their names.According to a judicial source, Khalil accused "several Finance Ministry employees" of using their positions at the ministry to claim state properties in a number of areas across Lebanon, but the source told The Daily Star that it was too soon to give out further details regarding the case. When contacted by The Daily Star, a ministry source said she could not comment on the details of the case because it was now with the judiciary, but said that the investigations pertained to several people who had transferred state property to private citizens.
