President Michel Aoun Wednesday received the credentials of new Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid al-Yaacoub, a tweet from the president's account said.The ambassador, appointed to the post by Riyadh in late September 2017, will replace Saudi Charge d'Affaires Walid Bukhari, who had served as acting head of mission since former Ambassador Ali Awad Asiri's term ended in August 2016 .After presenting his credentials, Yaacoub met with Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Speaker Nabih Berri separately.Media reports on Dec. 27, 2017, said that the Saudi government had informed the Lebanese Foreign Ministry that it would accept Beirut's appointment for the post of Lebanese ambassador to Riyadh, a move that likely paved the way for the approval of Yaacoub.
